21 July 2017, Singapore – It was certainly a night to remember at the grand opening of the new experiential showroom by W. Atelier. Strategically located in the heart of Henderson Road, the distinct sign of W. Atelier and the red carpet leading to the entrance of 201 Henderson Road #01-01 welcomed over 300 guests comprising key partners and major players in the design and architecture scene. The new 20,000 sqf showroom opened its doors to a warm reception as guests were ushered in to the multi-level facility that consists of two levels and a mezzanine landing.
The event kicked off with much fanfare as Mr Gani Atmadiredja and Mr Daniel Magg, Managing Director and General Manager of W. Atelier respectively, gave their opening addresses to welcome guests. Host, Bobby Tonelli, then invited Mr Gani Atmadiredja and Mr Hanafi Atmadiredja, Managing Director of TOTO Indonesia, to cut the ribbon, marking the grand opening of the showroom.
W. Atelier has designated this new experiential showroom as its flagship store, displaying an impressive array of bathroom, living and kitchen products from all its principal brands at every level. From the TOTO kitchen where sumptuous canapes were being prepared live to the various TOTO bathroom concepts for guests to experience, it was indeed a delightful play on the senses of guests and the true embodiment of TOTO living on the third level.
A second live kitchen, this time by SieMatic, is located on the first level where special guest and owner of Michelin-starred French Restaurant, Saint Pierre, Chef Emmanuel Stroobant carved an entire leg of Spanish Bellota Ham much to the excitement of the guests. In fact, the menu for the night at both live kitchens had been carefully curated by the celebrity chef himself just for the occasion.
Without a doubt, the entire showroom is a masterpiece in itself. One can’t help but take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the high ceilings and the magnificent glass frontage as well as the stunning interior. Guests were treated to experience the iconic Ro and Egg chairs from Fritz Hansen; sink into luxurious sofas by Lema; and take in beautiful Zanotta pieces such as the Raperonzolo mirrors and Sciangai coat stand.
Lighting installations seemed more like art than merely a source of light, complementing the already picturesque setting of the showroom. Opulent chandeliers from Lightyears and Lasvit overlooked the living area while golden Calabash pendant lamps by Lightyears hung above the next125 kitchen. With exquisite pieces from such notable brands, guests were ensured of comfortable seating, lush lighting and charming décor.
In line with the new showroom’s range of artful contemporary selections, guests were invited accordingly to test their creative skills in a variety of activities, including graffiti art and tile art as they explore the showroom. Two lucky draw segments were also held, with prizes worth nearly $7,000 in total sponsored by TOTO, Dyson, Santa & Cole, Miele, Fritz Hansen, Lema and Zanotta.
As the event drew to a close, the evening was deemed a huge success. The grand opening of this showroom marks a milestone in the history of W. Atelier, which promises bigger and better things in the future.
