Exclusive Kvadrat/Raf Simons Egg Chair Auctioned in Support of the Yellow Ribbon Fund
Sponsored by Republic of Fritz Hansen, the handcrafted chair raised $11,000 at the Yellow Ribbon Fund Charity Gala 2015 on 29 May at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
23 June 2015, Singapore – Amidst the glitz and glamour of the evening soiree, guests of the Yellow Ribbon Fund Charity Gala 2015 participated generously in the night’s highlight – a silent auction from which proceeds would be disbursed to approximately 3,000 ex-offenders and their families in the form of reintegration and family support programmes.
Danish fine furniture brand Republic of Fritz Hansen supported the event by contributing the exclusive Kvadrat/Raf Simons Egg Chair for auction. Created by designer and architect Arne Jacobsen and handcrafted by master artisans at Republic of Fritz Hansen, the Egg Chair is an iconic piece in the world of furniture design.
The Egg Chair put up for auction at the Yellow Ribbon Fund Charity Gala 2015 was an exclusive piece made with ‘Sonar 2’, a unique fabric collection that is a collaboration between leading European textile brand Kvadrat and celebrated fashion designer Raf Simons, who is currently creative director at Dior. The Kvadrat/Raf Simons Egg Chair eventually raised $11,000 at the gala’s silent auction.

The Yellow Ribbon Fund Charity Gala 2015 was attended by some 700 community partners, donors, beneficiaries and special guests including Guest-of-Honour President Tony Tan Keng Yam. The event was supported by official magazine Prestige which has an on-going Prestige-Yellow Ribbon Children’s Fund to provide financial aid, counselling and child care services to families of inmates.
