Fritz Hansen Lounge Launches in Singapore

Known for its clean, pure lines and high-quality craftsmanship of mid-century Danish furniture that is beloved worldwide, design giant Fritz Hansen brings its signature products to its new concept store in Singapore opened in partnership with local furniture purveyor W. Atelier.

3 May 2019, Singapore – Fritz Hansen announces the grand opening of the Fritz Hansen Lounge in Tan Boon Liat Building, a lifestyle furniture hub of impeccable design and style. The 400 sqm space conceptualised by Spanish designer and long-time collaborator Jaime Hayon will feature the brand’s full range of luxury furniture including iconic pieces from the Classic Collection by renowned designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Hans J. Wegner and Piet Hein, and designs from the Contemporary Collection by modern designers such as Jaime Hayon, Cecilie Manz, Hiromichi Konno and Jehs+Laub. The new JH97 lounge chair by Jaime Hayon that was recently launched at Milan Design Week 2019 will also be available in store for the viewing and purchasing pleasure of eagle-eyed design aficionados, who are encouraged to hang out and relax in the new lifestyle-centric space.

Mr Hayon shares: “My idea for the Fritz Hansen store in Singapore was to bring a touch of cool Scandinavian air to tropical Singapore, providing a relaxing respite for customers coming in from outside.”

Intricate structures crafted in metal with whimsical patterns help create individual, cozy spaces while letting the environment breathe. These discreet capsules create scenes that can serve as an inspiration to interior designers, with custom-made elements and architectural components. A calm and elegant environment is achieved with the combination of pale terrazzo and light walls mixed with pops of colour and natural wood. Together with the soft textiles in curtains and carpets, the store’s interior nicely contrasts with industrial building in which it is housed.

The world is already well-acquainted with the iconic Egg™, the Swan™ and the Drop™ chairs by the legendary Arne Jacobsen, which will be showcased along with products from their furniture, lighting and accessories collections that complement and elevate any modern interior, ranging from office, commercial and hospitality. Having been at the Bukit Timah showroom for five years, the new store allows for more space to meet the rise in demand and changing preferences in the Asian market for strong luxury pieces that exude both timelessness and a cool, contemporary edge.

Since 2011, Mr Hayon has been working with Fritz Hansen to come up with exquisite pieces such as the Plenum™ sofa and Analog™ table. The Fritz Hansen Lounge will be his first showroom in South East Asia.
